About our socks
How do I work out what size socks to buy?
If you know your shoe size in either UK or European sizes, the sizes of our socks are quoted in both scales for all products on our website. Just find the product you want and we should hopefully have it in the size you need.
You can also use our Sock Size Guide to convert UK sizes to EU sizes.
How do I convert UK sizes to European sizes (and visa versa)?
The sizes of our socks are listed in both UK and European sizes on our product pages.
If you know your size, then you should be able to find the one you need.
We also have a handy UK/EU sock size conversion chart you can refer to.
Where are your socks made?
Our own brand socks are all manufactured in the UK. We use small, family-owned manufacturers that have been hand-picked for the quality of the socks they produce.
The majority of our own branded ranges are unique to Sock Solutions and produced exclusively for us.
Do you stock socks from other brands?
Yes, as well as our own brand socks, we also stock a limited range of branded socks from other companies.
Like our own socks, the ranges we stock from other sock makers have all been carefully chosen so that you can be certain of the quality and durability of the socks you buy from us.
Why are your socks better quality than other socks?
Sock Solutions was founded way back in 2005 to provide customers with socks of the finest quality. This remains the case today.
We design our own socks to an exacting standard, use artisan manufacturers to make them for us and we use the finest quality yarns. In recent years, importing the yarns from overseas has become more challenging, but we’ve persisted with it because at no point was compromising on quality an option.
This means there are certainly cheaper places to buy socks. But, if you’re shopping for quality, not just price, then we hope Sock Solutions will be a source of high quality socks and hosiery for many years to come.
Do you sell children’s socks?
We have a limited range of children’s socks at the current time. Specifically, our famous Riding Sock is now available in a range of colours for children.
In the future, we might also add other socks for children. If you have any thoughts on what socks we should add, then please get in touch and tell us more.
Do you sell knee high socks?
Yes, we offer a range of knee high socks for men and women. We also offer knee high socks for sporting activities including shooting and riding.
Knee high socks have always been a core part of the range of socks we offer and we’re working to expand the selection we have available over the months ahead.
How do I find out what materials are used to make your socks?
We know the materials used in our socks are important to a lot of our customers.

What is The Sock Solutions Newsletter?
You’ll receive the Sock Solutions Newsletter when you join our mailing list.
We send it via email and in it we’ll share the latest news from Sock Solutions HQ.
This includes updates on new products, specific ranges coming back into stock and new sizes or colours we’re adding. You’ll also receive exclusive offers and promotions unique to mailing list subscribers.
Can I unsubscribe?
Yes, of course. At the bottom of each email we send you is a link that will let you opt-out of receiving any further emails.
Will you fill up my inbox with spam?
No. We hate email spam as much as everyone else. Our newsletter exists only to help keep our customers up-to-date when we have something interesting to say.
You won’t get the hard-sell from us, just great products, relevant offers and the occasional news update.

How do I find out what information you hold about me?
How we deliver your order
Is your packaging environmentally friendly?
Yes. We always use strong, eco-friendly packaging materials. Orders are sent in packaging which is 100% recyclable (and, where possible, recycled), biodegradable and from certified sustainable sources.
Where do you deliver to?
We can post orders to any UK address, including the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and Isles of Scilly.
We do not currently deliver to any location outside of this area, although we may add international delivery options in the future. If you want your order posted outside the UK, please contact us and we’ll do our best to help.
What does delivery cost?
We have a fixed postage charge of £4.95 for all orders under £50.
Orders over £50 are posted free of charge.
Do you offer free postage?
Yes, orders over £50 are posted free of charge.
How long will it be before my order is despatched?
We try to despatch all orders within 2-3 working days of your order being placed. If this isn’t possible for any reason, we will either make that clear on the website before you order, or notify you by email.
Can you leave my order in a safe place when I’m out?
This isn’t always possible, but if you have a specific place you would like your order left when you are out, please mention this when you order.
Depending on the size of your order parcel, it will either be delivered by your local postal worker or a courier service.
In some cases, we can pass your delivery instructions to the delivery agent, in other cases we cannot.
Even if we can pass these details on, we cannot guarantee that the courier or postal worker will follow those instructions and larger orders may require you to sign to state you have received them.
If your postal worker cannot leave your parcel in a safe place, you may be required to collect from your local post office or courier collection centre.
You should receive a note from the delivery company informing you of this and what you need to do.
Please be aware, that in the event your parcel is left in a safe place, we cannot guarantee the safety of your parcel. The items in the parcel become your responsibility from the point they are delivered.
Can you deliver to a place of work?
Yes, we are very happy to deliver to your work address if this is more convenient. Simply enter the different delivery address at checkout.
Can you deliver to someone else?
Yes, you can enter a different delivery address when you checkout. Just enter the name and address of the person you would like your order sent to.
Do I need to sign to say I’ve received my order?
Not all orders will require a signature, but larger orders and orders delivered to some regions may need you to sign to acknowledge receipt. This will be at our discretion.
How long should it take for my order to arrive?
The exact timescale for delivery after your order has been dispatched will be determined by the postal or courier service.
We would normally expect orders to arrive within a day or two of being posted, however it may take up to a week at busier times of the year (such as the run up to Christmas).
What do I do if my order hasn’t arrived 10-days after it was dispatched?
How do I complain or get a refund?
Do you offer refunds?
We want every customer to be happy, so when there is clearly a problem with delivery, the wrong items are sent or your order arrives damaged we will either refund or send you replacement items as quickly as possible.
Where your order has been delivered and the items arrive in the condition and size they were advertised, refunds are offered at our discretion. We may offer you store credit as an alternative to a full refund and we may require you to return the items to us at your own cost in order to issue a refund.

I’m not happy with one of the items I’ve ordered. What do I do?
If you have a problem with any item, please email email@example.com, quoting your order number.
Let us know what’s wrong and we’ll do everything we can to sort it out.
My order hasn’t arrived. What do I do?
The items I’ve bought don’t fit. Can I get a refund?
We ask that customers check they are buying the right size socks before they order. You can use our Sock Sizes Chart to check which size is right for your feet.
Where the size you’ve ordered is not right, please contact us before the item is worn. We will require you to return the item in the condition it was sent to you - specifically, not worn or washed.
We will then refund you once the items have been returned to us.
How do I send items back to you?
Before sending anything back to us, please email firstname.lastname@example.org, quoting your order number.
We will then acknowledge the return and send further instructions.
Any costs for sending items back to us will need to be paid by you and you must obtain a Proof of Postage receipt from the Post Office. We cannot be held responsible for items that do not arrive with us.
